What is the Animal of the Heart?, What does it mean to have that animal at the heart?
Jessica Clements had an idyllic childhood until she was nine when she had a brain haemorrhage. Physically she recovered quickly but emotionally it was quite a different matter until she was introduced to an animal that represented her heart – an Elephant.
This Elephant introduced her also to all her other animals. They are a snake, a dragonfly, a phoenix, its fleas, a goldfish and a black panther. They taught her that her scars can be seen in a different way for now they are sutured with a black panther’s whisker and held by a dragonfly! This she wrote in her newly published book, “The Elephant of My Heart”.
